Next week is a big one folks!
Not only will I have the conclusion to all of my exams from this semester of school, but The Phoenix Fallacy Book 2 will also be releasing on Thursday. There’s a lot going on around here, but so far things have been going well. My cover artist, Roman Mindek – who created the first cover – is making a final push to get the art together, and then I’ll be shipping the work over to Thea Kennedy to get the cover lettering and polish together. It’s a tight schedule, but I think I’m just going to squeak by! I’ll post the cover here as soon as possible, and post the map soon after.
As far as school goes, I’ve got finals this week, as well as the test run for our team’s robotic car. We finished up the code Friday, and the car did very well in the obstacle course we set up for it. It has a few problems here and there, but those are more limitations due to the quality of the sensors and hardware. Some thin objects (like a really thin chair leg) aren’t detected, but those shouldn’t be on the course. I’m going to try to record a video and post it for you after Wednesday’s run.
In the meantime, we submitted our final version of our game, Robo Knight Rusty, for evaluation. I’ve seen some great games over the semester, and I don’t know how grading will go, but I think we did a pretty good job overall. I’m pretty proud of what we were able to pull together in 10 weeks, so I’m not complaining, whatever the grade.
Originally, I wanted to post a video of my game this week, but I think I’ll try to post the actual game if I can, although I might only be able to do that through the school website.
Anyway, that’s going to wrap it up this week. Sorry for the short post, but there’s just too much going on around here! Next week will be my last post of the year, so I’ll make sure it’s a good one. Have a wonderful week everyone, and see you next time!
